A unique opportunity for those traveling through Alexandria to visit the Royal Jewelry museum located in the 19th century palace. You will not only enjoy the luxurious interiors of the palace preserved in its original nature, but also admire the decorations and household items of the royal family of Mohammed Ali’s dynasty.
The museum is located in a luxurious building of exquisite neoclassical architecture. The building was originally built as a summer palace for the family of Zeinab Fahmy, the wife of a descendant of Mohammed Ali. After her death, the palace passed to her daughter, Princess Fatima Al-Zahra, who added the east wing to the building, connected to the rest of the building by a corridor.
The royal decorations exhibited inside the palace are true works of art. The museum includes about 11,500 artifacts that were once personal belongings and gifts belonging to the family and descendants of Mohammed Ali. And recently, other jewels of the Mohamed Ali family, which had been pledged for six decades at the Central Bank of Egypt, have joined the collection of the museum.
The interiors of the museum is also a work of art. Do not miss your chance and wander through the halls and rooms of this 19th century palace.
