How far is Saqqara from Cairo?

Saqqara is situated some minutes away from Giza pyramids. The distance from the pyramids to Saqqara necropolis is 25 km. The journey usually takes just 30 minutes to reach a beautiful countryside areas in Saqqara and its archaeological site.

Is Saqqara worth visiting?

Now as the entrance inside the Step pyramid had been restored the pyramid is opened to public. You can enter inside and explore its main passage and even burial chamber. Note that an extra ticket will require, this is an optional visit.

Can I visit the Saqqara tomb?

There are many tombs discovered in Saqqara and a lot more are on the way to be discovered. You can visit many Royal and Noble tombs in Saqqara opened to general public. Some Saqqara tombs are free of charge to visit while others require to purchase a separate ticket.
