Gara Cave White desert Safari 2 day tour from Cairo

An unforgettable journey to the extraordinary Gara Cave together with jeep safari in the Black and surrealistic White Desert on our 2-day tour to the Bahariya Oasis and Western Desert from Cairo. A journey into the endless whiteness of the White Desert with its beautiful bizarre chalk formations, a natural wonder of Egypt.

Day 1: Journey to the capital of Bahariya oasis

We will take a comfortable air-conditioned minibus to Bawiti city, the capital of the Bahariya oasis. The distance from Cairo to the oasis is about 370 km, our journey will take up to 4.5 hours. There are some hot springs in Bawiti city where you can swim, so do not forget to bring your swimwear. One spring is called Bir Ramla, the other one is situated 2 kilometers from the city in the village of Aguz.

In the city a famous necropolis, known as "Valley of the Golden Mummies", dates back to the Greco-Roman period, is situated. Also the ruins of the temple of Alexander the Great are found in Bawiti. Some archaeologists believe that the commander built a temple here on his way back from the oracle of Amon in Siwa.

Upon arrival in the city, we will change our minibus to jeeps and start the trip to the Western Desert. Get ready for a unique desert experience, adventure and indescribable emotions.

Our first visit in the Black Desert is Crystal Mountain. A magnificent desert landscape covered with a layer of black basalt will open in front of us. Crystal Mountain is a place of stunning beauty! Crystals glow in the sun, giving the environment a certain mystery. Minerals are scattered everywhere, but you shouldn't take them with you.

Next, we will head into the depths of the desert to volcanic hills, similar to volcanic cones, rising from the desert. We will visit Mount El Marsous - a volcanic hill covered with black volcanic basalt. Let's stop at the observation point with a panoramic view of the landscapes of the Oasis. Next stop at the springs of the village of El Hiz and lunch in the fresh air before starting a safari in the White Desert.

Stunning views of the El Agabat plateau await us in the White Desert. Here you can go sand-boarding on the sand dunes. Next, we will move to El Mattar, where a tent camp will be set up. Our amazing dinner will be cooked over a campfire and we will spend a night in a tent camp under the stars. Bio toilets will be installed in the camp. Tents with sleeping bags and camel blankets are provided.

Day 2: Gara cave exploration tour

After breakfast in our tent camp, let us continue our journey and go to the Ancient Gara Cave through the Karavin dunes. The distance to the cave is about 170 km. Visit to the Ancient Cave with stalactites and lunch in a picturesque place. After the excursion, we return back to the town of Baviti, where we will stop for a while in the city center, here you can buy dates, oil and handicrafts as souvenirs from the locals. Return to Cairo at approximately 21.00.
