The three pyramids are named after the pharaohs who built them: Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. The largest of the three, the Great Pyramid of Khufu, is the oldest and largest of the three, standing at over 140 meters (460 feet) tall. The pyramids were built as tombs for the pharaohs and were constructed over a period of more than 80 years. They are also accompanied by smaller pyramids for the pharaohs' queens and other family members. The Pyramids of Giza are surrounded by other ancient structures, including the Sphinx, which is a massive statue of a lion with a human head, and numerous smaller tombs and temples.
During Giza pyramids tour a fun camel ride through the desert will be arranged to take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
