The royal carriages museum is located in Cairo Citadel and houses the magnificent carriages of the times of Mohamed Ali. Do not miss this museum during a sightseeing tour of the Citadel and be sure to admire not only the royal carriages, but also the beautiful paintings and uniform of the coachmen of that time.
This amazing museum presents the carriages of the royal family of Egypt. All the carriages exhibited in the museum hall were from France. In the hall we also find a carriage used to go for a pick-nick, it dates back to Khedive Abbas II. The carriage was used for walks in the garden of the Montaz Palace in Alexandria. And here you can easily find a pram that was made in England in 1924 for Crown Prince Farouk when he was a little boy.
The museum was originally created not only to show the royal carriages, but also to show the horses belonging to Khedive himself and members of the royal family. Experts and veterinarians from all over the world have been brought to take care of horses.
