Tour to kv62 simply known as king Tut tomb in Luxor Valley of the kings to know some facts about Tutankhamun and his wife, to discover all tomb's treasures, including the mask, mummy and sarcophagi.
KV 62 or the tomb of the boy Pharaoh Tutankhamen, which is located in the Valley of the Kings and which we will visit during our excursion, was discovered on November 4, 1922 by Gavard Carter. This famous tomb is one of the smallest in the Valley of the Kings. Nevertheless, it contains treasures, which may be the largest treasure ever hidden in the valley.
Five thousand cataloged items from this tomb are a unique collection and perhaps the richest of all ever placed in tombs. Among the most impressive finds was a gold mask weighing 11 kg and decorated with lapis lazuli, carnelian, quartz, obsidian, turquoise and colored glass. Pharaoh's golden sarcophagus, decorated with semi-precious and glass stones and weighing 110.4 kg. All these artifacts are now on display at Egyptian Museum of Antiquities.
The mummy of Tutankhamen was found in a golden sarcophagus placed inside two other large wooden sarcophagi richly gilded and decorated with semiprecious stones and glass. All three sarcophagi were placed in a rectangular quartzite sarcophagus with a red granite lid.
