Full Description

Luxor East bank tour to Karnak temple, Luxor temple, Karnak open air museum and Luxor museum with a private English speaking guide.

What can I see on the East bank of Luxor?

Luxor East bank has several major attractions. The best known are Karnak and Luxor Temples. Some years ago Avenue of Sphinxes opened to public, now 4,5 km long road can be taken either from Luxor Temple of vice-versa. Also on the east bank of Luxor near the Nile you will find two very rich museums: Luxor museum and Museum of mummification.

How long does it take to tour Luxor East bank?

Usually to tour Luxor East bank you will require from 2 to 5 hours. But you can divide your visit into several parts or on the contrary shorten the visits and choose only some particular places you are interested in to visit.

When is it better to tour East bank of Luxor?

The best time to tour east bank of Luxor is early morning from 6 am as there will be not many people wandering around the temples together with you, so due to it amazing pictures are guaranteed. If you visit Luxor in late spring and summer early morning tour will give you a big advantage in touring the sights before the sun rises up and starts heating the grounds.

What is included in our Luxor East bank tour?

Our Private East Bank of Luxor tour starts with pick up by a private a/c vehicle from your Luxor hotel. Our English speaking guide will pick up you after breakfast around 9 am and take directly to one of the most famous places on the East bank of Luxor - Luxor Temple. Our walking tour around the temple, its chapels and even open air museum, which is situated behind the main structure, will take up to two hours.

Next we move to the Avenue of Sphinxes which is now situated inside the premises of Luxor Temple. As the distance from Luxor Temple directly to Karnak Temple via the avenue is 4,5 km, it may seem long to take it all on foot. There is an option to walk around the avenue from the side of Luxor Temple and then take our vehicle and drive to Karnak Temple directly.

Another option, that we recommend to do, is to start walking the avenue from the half way and enter the temple of Karnak on foot from the side of Sphinxes' avenue. This way the temple will be more impressive and you will discover other interesting places of Karnak Temple.

Tour in Karnak Temple may take up to 2 hours including exploration of Karnak Open-air Museum and its unique chapels: Red Chapel of Hatshepsut, White Chapel of Senusret I and Alabaster chapel of Amenhotep I.
