Three day tour to Cairo will introduce you to the world famous pyramids in Giza, Saqqara Step pyramid and royal tombs. Historic Cairo and Cairo citadel tour with a visit to famous mosques, minarets and Medieval Cairo houses plus day tour to Luxor to explore its temples, tombs and valleys.
Group excursion to Cairo by plane from Sharm el Sheikh includes:
- transfer from the hotel to the airport
- flight to Cairo, 50 minutes
- meeting at the Cairo airport
- excursion to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities
- felucca ride along the Nile (optionally, extra charge)
- lunch at a local restaurant
- shopping: oils, papyrus, cotton
- excursion to the pyramids with a visit to the Sphinx and its temple
After the excursion, transfer to a 4* hotel on BB, standard DBL room.
Your guide will meet you in the morning at the hotel reception after breakfast. Today we will go to Saqqara and visit the very first pyramid built in Egypt - the Step pyramid of King Djoser. We will get acquainted with the exposition of the Imhotep Museum, located at the foot of the necropolis, look inside the Pyramid of Teti, the walls of the pyramid bears well known the Pyramid Texts, and examine 3 open tombs. Walking sightseeing tour around the Step pyramid with the opportunity to get inside the pyramid itself (additionally, a separate ticket is required), you can also go down to the foot of the pyramid and enter the burial chamber (a separate ticket is required), in which the famous blue faience room of King Djoser was once found.
We will return to the city for lunch. Next, we will go on a walking sightseeing tour of Old Cairo: Fort Babylon, old Coptic churches and Ben Ezra synagogue. In the evening, return to your hotel and free time.
Today we will devote to discover the Islamic monuments of Cairo. Let's visit the Citadel of Saladin, take a look at the Mosque of Muhammad Ali and Al Nasir Muhammad, visit the Al-Haramlik Palace, which houses the Military Museum. We will go down to the foot of the citadel and walk along the mosque al-Rifai and Sultan Hasan, look inside these ancient buildings. Next, transfer to the Ibn Tulun mosque, where we can climb its unique minaret and take panoramic photos of Cairo. We will end the excursion with a visit to the Guy Anderson Museum, located in a medieval house, better known as Bayt al-Kritleia. The museum hosts a private collection of Pharaonic and Islamic art, plus in itself the museum is a fine example of the houses of the nobility of the 17-18 centuries.
Lunch in the city and a walk through the largest Oriental bazaar. In the evening, transfer to the railway station and overnight train to Luxor (at 21:10), sleeping double cabin, breakfast is included.
Arrival in Luxor in the morning around 7 o'clock, meeting with the guide at the train station. A guided tour of Luxor includes:
- excursion to the temple of Hatshepsut
- visit to the Valley of the Kings and 3 open tombs
- Colossi of Memnon photo session
- sightseeing tour of the Karnak Temple
- lunch at a local restaurant
- visit to the alabaster factory
After the end of the excursion program, transfer to the airport and flight to Sharm el-Sheikh. Transfer to your hotel.
